So entropy rises globally, but locally evolution builds a god-like intelligence that can reboot the game.

- Over time the universe expands and cools.
- Structure formation
- Gravity pulls matter together.
- Stars and galaxies form.
- Stars are engines that turn nuclear fuel into light and heavier elements.
- Planets appear as side effects of this process.
- Emergent life
- On some planets, chemistry plus energy flow gives rise to life.
- Life uses free energy to keep itself ordered.
- Evolution shapes life into more complex forms.
- Eventually brains, technology, culture appear.
- Energetic evolution of intelligence
- Intelligence is a way to use energy gradients more efficiently.
- Civilizations learn to harvest more and more energy.
- Dyson spheres, black hole engineering, huge computation.
- The better the control, the more precise their influence on matter and spacetime.
- Emergent god
- At some scale, this intelligence looks god like from our point of view.
- It can model the universe.
- It can engineer matter on cosmic scales.
- It can possibly manipulate black holes or quantum gravity.
- Creation of a new universe
- Using extreme control, it might be able to
- trigger a baby universe
- pinch off a region of spacetime
- or use black hole interiors as seeds of new universes
- From the inside of that baby universe, it looks like
